Tomorrow will be the final Grand Prize package giveaway so either subscribe to my blog to be notified when it’s up or come visit again tomorrow.

In today’s Proverbs 31 devotion, I referred to the verse  from Proverbs 4:23, which says “Be careful what you think, because your thoughts run your life.”  (NCV)  I shared about a season of life where my thoughts were running rampant with worry, discouragement, fear and negativity and I realized those thoughts had begun running and controlling not only my life, but my happiness. In fact, my thoughts often made me feel as if I were sinking mentally, emotionally — and at times, even spiritually.

I can honestly say that had I not depended on God during this difficult season of life, and had He not helped me learn to take my thoughts captive, depend on Him for strength, and look to Him for peace and joy when life seemed too difficult and heartbreaking to manage, I don’t know where or how I would be today.  So many times I felt like I was sinking, but God was always there to pull me back up every time I felt like I was getting pulled under with the current of negative thinking.

During my prayer time, months ago, I came across Hebrews 6:19 which says “We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure.”  From that point forward, I have chosen to anchor my heart in God, instead of anchoring it in problems, thoughts, feelings and emotions which cause me to sink. I have learned first hand that hearts anchored in God don’t sink, and that anchoring our hearts in God has to begin with transforming the way we think, so we will be in control of how we feel and live.

Anchoring our hearts in God equips us to stand firm when we feel like sinking; to persevere when we feel like we want to give up; to try to have a positive perspective about a negative problem; and to be filled with peace and joy even when life is difficult.

I truly believe the message of Unsinkable Faith is one that every person can use to radically transform the way they think, feel and live. When we change the way we look at things, the things we look at will change. Perspective is everything, and when we let go of our negative perspectives and embrace God’s perspective instead, a powerful transformation begins in the mind.

Our thoughts have power, my friend. Power to run our lives and change who we are. It is our choice as to how our thoughts change us- for the worse, or for the better. A negative mind will never lead to a negative life, but a positive mind opens the door for a positive life to blossom.

If you’re desperate for a change in your life but haven’t known how to kickstart that change … if it seems your circumstances will never change and you’re convinced you can never be happy again until they do … if you’re longing to grow stronger in your faith and start living a more positive life by putting negative, discouraging or bitter thoughts and feelings behind you … if you’re ready and excited to embrace a fresh new life of peace, joy, hope and happiness, even if your circumstances remain the same … then my deepest prayer is that Unsinkable Faith will be what God uses to draw you closer to Him and help you discover that you can have unsinkable faith too and that a more positive, blessed life is only one positive prayer away.

“Hearts anchored in God don’t sink”
It takes the bad thoughts and turns them into me reaching for life.

I love the quote, “Hearts anchored in God don’t sink.” It reminds me that even when life is hard or hard to understand, we (Christians) will be ok. Comforting thought! Thanks, Tracie! Look forward to meeting you on May 13th at Covenant.

Hi Tracie, I like this quote: “Choosing to be the captain of our thoughts allows us to land on the shore of optimism.” I have struggled with negative thoughts my whole life. Yet as my faith grows, God is teaching me how to take each thought captive to Christ, and optimism is the wonderful result! I’m sharing this quote on Twitter today. Blessings to you!

“Hearts anchored in God don’t sink.” I choose this as my reminder that God led me to your blog this morning to tell me to choose His thoughts, to focus on His way of thinking, of life and love, not of negativity. Thank you.

  7. Jane on Friday, March 31, 2017 at 8:25 am

Stinkin’ thinkin’ as Zig Ziglar used to call it, too often begins when my feet hit the floor. It is a challenge to overcome it. So ‘what we think, becomes who we are’ goes on my bathroom mirror today.

  8. Shelly C. on Friday, March 31, 2017 at 8:35 am

Hearts anchored in God don’t sink. My focus during a personal situation was leaning strongly to the untrusting, jealous side, which of course will push a person away. Claiming faith in God’s will and living in that light and not focusing on my own feelings changed my heart, changed my outlook, and eventually, my heart and God’s will were lined up to receive the biggest blessing of my life.

  9. June Chapko on Friday, March 31, 2017 at 8:37 am

I chose “Hearts Anchored in God don’t sink.” God is my anchor and I cling to Him for everything.

“…a more positive, blessed life is only one positive prayer away.” I can’t wait to read your new book, Tracie!

Hearts anchored in God don’t sink. If I don’t place my life and trust in Him then I surely do sink! If I keep my focus and eyes on Him then I have the peace that I need.

Hearts anchored in God don’t sink. How I found that out as I listened to this country gospel song (of Hebrews 6:19) after my husband died. I thought I was deep in the LORD. Found out I was pretty shallow. But that song taught me so much. Thank you for sharing your heart.

I have had negative thoughts this past month and it has effected how I have acted to others around me. May God continue to help me overcome hurtful thoughts.

Hello! I just discovered you, your blog and Unsinkable Faith through your devotion today on Proverbs 31! And I’m SO glad I did! I pre-ordered my Kindle version of your book and love the freebies that came with it! Thank you! I also am doing the reading plan on You Version and the 5-day challenge.

Your devotion came at just the right time. While I am overall a positive person and believe that happiness is a choice, I struggle with strongholds of insecurity, fear, worry and people-pleasing. God has been opening my eyes to this more so than ever as my insecurity led to a fallout with a close relative. We are not on good terms and haven’t spoken since this and I have been drowning in the weight of it, and beating myself up with negative thoughts and emotions.

God has been slowly showing me how I have allowed my thoughts to hold me captive and it has led to allowing people to disrespect me as this family member did. I have come across Bible verses, quotes and more as God is speaking to my heart about this.

So I know it’s not a coincidence that I read your devotion today and found your blog and book. I know it’s part of God’s plan to transform my mind and help me to take my thoughts captive!

The quote that speaks the most to me is “Hearts anchored in God don’t sink.” I grew up on the water so the book cover, and this quote, really resonate with my love of water and all-things nautical and beachy.

It also is a great visual for not letting ourselves drown in our emotions as I was doing. I picture an anchor going right through negative emotions but being held up for us by God when we hand it to Him instead.

I recently moved to a new apartment and would love to have that print for my bathroom! I don’t have access to a color printer, only black and white ones, so I have my eye on that print prize!! ???? ⚓️

Thank you for the chance to win and for this great resource! I can’t wait to start reading!

(P.S. I tweeted two quotes. I tweeted the last one manually because the link wasn’t working for me on that one for some reason. My Twitter name is @blondeblogger. Thanks again!)

“…anchoring our hearts in God has to begin with transforming the way we think, so we will be in control of how we feel and live.”
We often cannot control our situations or the actions of others, but we CAN control our thoughts….with help! We have the power of the Holy Spirit on our side-if we CHOOSE to use it. When we feel all is out of control, we need to recognize that feelings are transient, but our anchor is stable and unmoving-and that response is the one that will change our feelings and lives.

  16. Amy on Friday, March 31, 2017 at 9:32 am

Hearts anchored in God don’t sink. – My testimony is proof-positive that this quote/sentence is all we need.

When my son took his life 2-1/12 years ago, I surrounded myself with scriptures taped on my walls, computer, desk, (I work from home)…..and as the days progressed, I changed them when nudged by the Holy Spirit.

Some days I prayed for supernatural peace, sometimes a few times a day, and every single time He blessed me with peace. And He still does.

With a heart anchored in God, there is no way you can sink. He promises that. And He most assuredly delivers.

  17. Angelina Glass on Friday, March 31, 2017 at 9:41 am

I absolutely love this. It is no mistake that I came across the email from P31 and followed it here and also found you on Instagram. God is SO good. I needed this encouragement more than I knew. I absolutely love “Attitude transformations dont happen overnight, but they do happen” and already tweeted, and will also share on FB. So excited to get my book!

  18. Elsie on Friday, March 31, 2017 at 9:56 am

“Hearts anchored in God don’t sink” It reminds me of when Peter walked on water, when he took his eyes or focus off Jesus he started to sink. This happens to us when we do the same. Anchor is a very powerful word. When our heart are anchored to God we are fully connected to Him and everything else is on the right path. We truly love Him and others. Anchor also means safety to me. We are in Jesus’s safety net.

  19. Noelle on Friday, March 31, 2017 at 10:01 am

I like anchor hearts in God don’t sink.it reminds us where to keep our focus

I love this quote: Choosing to be the captain of our thoughts allows us to land on the shore of optimism. Everything we do is a choice. By choosing to be in control of my thoughts my life will be so much better!
Thank you, Tracie, for these words today.

  21. Ellen on Friday, March 31, 2017 at 10:15 am

A timely reminder for me in the midst of a disheartening marital crisis. Thanks for some key thoughts to pray for, not only myself, but for my now estranged husband. God owns our future, whether together or apart, and I vow to stay anchored to Him!

Attitude transformations dont happen overnight, but they do happen #unsinkablefaithbook #thinkpositive
Tracie, I have found that sometimes it really takes a lot of effort to transform my attitude. But, I continue to strive and work hard at changing my attitude because I know that a positive attitude is better for me and it also is healthier.

“What we think, becomes who we are.” I wish this had been drilled into my mind at an early age, and that I had passed it on to my children. I can only imagine the positive effect it would have had on us all. Thanks be to God, with every day comes new possibilities for change and positive results. As a friend recently commented on my Facebook page in response to my regrets over having smoked 35 years before quitting, “No one can give herself a better past. You have given yourself a better future though.” I like that. I think it will stick. 🙂

I love this because I keep going backwards. It’s one step forward and two back. I think I will have unsinkable faith then in a few days I’m back to being worried fearful. Negative. Thank you for this encouraging post

Hearts anchored in God don’t sink
I’ve always struggled with negative thoughts so much that it has affected my life and the people in my life
I have been bombarded with bad happenings in the past but more lately
My husband has begun calling me the black hole of abyss
I’ve came across this post at a time I feel I need it most
I wish I could afford to buy this book 🙁 I’d love to have words to help transform my mind
Several of the verses speak to me but anchoring your heart in God reminds me to draw closer and to really cling to him so that I don’t sink

  28. Darcey on Friday, March 31, 2017 at 12:02 pm

“What we think, becomes who we are.” really resonates with me. I have become that person I don’t like because of what I think not what I know. Thanks for the reminder and the chance to win your new book!!

Hi Tracie, I am in love with “What we think, becomes who we are.” Only because it reminds me of Dr. Wayne Dyer’s book, Change Your Thoughts, Change Your Life. Continuing to learn more and more about myself I have found out that I am more of a negative person than positive, but not by choice. I am always looking for new things to help me become a more positive person and ran across your blog from Proverbs 31 devotional. Thank you for opening up a part of your life and sharing with us. I tweeted, @rknutson1104 🙂

Hearts anchored in God don’t sink. Nor do they drift too and fro on the storms of life.

  35. Melanie A. on Friday, March 31, 2017 at 5:07 pm

As always your devotionals hit right on target. “What we think, becomes who we are” is so true. I have found if I let even one negative thought in, it can make me grouchy the whole day. Some days are harder battles than others, but it is something I strive to be aware of and shift my thought direction when I catch it.

  36. Lynn on Friday, March 31, 2017 at 6:56 pm

What we think, becomes who we are.

    So, so true!

  37. Rachelle Craig on Friday, March 31, 2017 at 8:29 pm

I love all the quotes, but I would choose; Attitude transformations don’t happen overnight, but they do happen, because that is exactly what happened to me as I allowed God to take charge of my harbored feelings of hatred, anger, bitterness and resentment towards someone who hurt me physically, emotionally and mentally. It definitely did not happen overnight, but I was eventually able to truly forgive and move on to a beautiful, positive life!

  38. Bobbye Mc on Friday, March 31, 2017 at 8:51 pm

‘What we think becomes who we are’ is me to a tee. Proverbs 4:23 is one of my favorite verses. I know it to be true, however, over the last several years I am in a pit of negative thinking. It has affected every area of my life.
I have so many excuses, some legitimate, most wallowing in my self pity.

I pray, I’m in the word and there never seems to be an end.
I want to be free of this. I’m so tired of living like this.

  39. Lora on Friday, March 31, 2017 at 10:21 pm

Wow-I have never seen your blog but am familiar with Proverbs 31 ministry. I have been barely treading water and the last 2 days spent more time under the water than I am comfortable with! We had storms in my area and was checking on friends when I came across your blog on FB. It is so on target with what I am going through-and my thoughts are taking me under-making me fearful. Fear goes away when I say, “hearts anchored in G-d do not sink!” My faith is unsinkable. I recall the day I accepted Christ- my thoughts of being of sound mind, no distress-just knowing that He IS. Thank you for this timely message in my life!

  40. Deb on Saturday, April 1, 2017 at 9:03 am

“What we think, becomes who we are.” This is so very true; a friend put it another way “we live what we believe”. Do we walk in bondage or freedom? My heart goes out to you as you walk through this hard season and yet it rejoices in seeing how God is working in/through you. My His grace and peace flood your heart & mind. Praying for you and your family.

What we think is who we are speaks very loudly to me. I am trying so hard to live with a positive attitude and let people know just how much God does for me on a daily basis. I know without Him I could not live with this pain. I look forward to being able to buy your book. I know there is so much in it that could help me.
