A Favorite Holiday Memory

Do you have a favorite holiday memory from your childhood?

I have lots of wonderful memories myself, but one of my favorites is the Moravian Star and all the yummy Moravian cookies that we would nibble on at my grandmothers house, and now at my mom’s house each year.

Today I am guest posting over at my sweet friend Karen Ehman’s blog on the 6th day of her 5th annual 12 Days of Christmas Giveaway Series. I am sharing about how and why the Moravian star and the Moravian faith holds a special place in my heart, and giving away a Christmas Stressed-Less Living gift package which includes a signed copy of the book, a bible study guide, cinnamon flavored coffee and a Christmas doorknob decoration.  I love this time of year!   🙂

If you’re interested in getting your own box of Moravian cookies for this holiday season, click here.  I also love to dip these little crispy cookies in pumpkin dip which makes them extra delish!

Below is a great recipe:

4 c. powdered sugar

2 (8 oz.) pkgs. cream cheese

1 can (30 oz.) pumpkin pie filling

2 tsp. cinnamon

1 tsp. ginger

Combine sugar and softened cream cheese until well blended. Beat in remaining ingredients. Store in airtight container in the refrigerator. It’s a great easy to dip to enjoy at home or take to a holiday social. Yumminess.

My favourite memory was me and my dad went to his home town in Mayo and after drinking we went to this local cafe for a burger and all these little kids kept listing to snow informer and they made me laugh and they all just kept laughing and it was so funny and sureall all these little farm kids listening to informer and pretending their fingers were guns and even the chef kept laughing.
We went on drinking and about 6 hours later as we went to the car we passed the cafe and all the kids were still at the window listening to informer and laughing and making gun gestures with their hands and I swear that chef was putting magic mushrooms in their food, It was the only hangout in his hometown for kids and there was just loads of freckly ginger kids and snotty kids and they just couldn’t stop laughing. As we drove past the next day they were still at the window with their milkshakes laughing and singing informer and making gestures at everyone. That was so funny but I guess you had to have been there.
