It’s a Brand New Year! Let’s Walk Through it Together! Here’s why….

If you’re visiting my blog today from my Proverbs 31 devotion, Let Go of the Old and Embrace God’s New, then welcome!

Please CLICK HERE TO SUBSCRIBE TO MY BLOG so we can stay connected throughout the year! (you will receive an email after subscribing asking you to confirm your email address, so be on the lookout. If you don’t receive it immediately, please check your spam.)

As you can read in the devotion, life has not been easy the past couple years. In fact it’s been harder than I could have ever imagined and there were days I wanted to throw in the towel when the weight of the pain and problems felt too heavy.  (If you haven’t been a regular blog subscriber before now, you can click here to read last year’s update).

But there is good news! In fact, great news. Despite all that God has allowed me to go through, and even though at times life felt like more than I could handle (and sometimes still does), I have learned some invaluable lessons.

Lessons like ….

… how brightly God’s light shines when you feel like you’re sinking in the darkness

… learning to stay strong in my faith even when you feel forgotten

… what it means to truly depend on God alone to meet your emotional and physical needs and the awe of seeing Him do it

… the value of true friendships and the importance of having friends in your life

… how to overcome loneliness, even in a room full of people

… how to rediscover who I really am, my true identity, and learn to love and value who God created me to be

… how to heal from rejection, betrayal and overwhelming pain

… how to forgive, even when it’s not deserved or appreciated

… the necessity of maintaining a constant attitude of gratitude and thankfulness and how to do that

… truly loving the people God has placed in your life and letting go of the ones who aren’t

… how to control my thoughts instead of letting my thoughts control me, my life and my joy

… the power of staying positive and optimistic in the face of adversity and hurt

… how to be happy and love my life again even though it’s not the life I ever imagined

And on and on and on. Sometimes I can’t help but weep when I think about how amazing God is and how He has carried me the last few years when I felt too weak to walk through life on my own. And friend, if you’ve ever felt that way, or if you want to focus on growing spiritually in this brand new year and learning to love life and live it to the fullest no matter what life throws at you, I hope you’ll subscribe to my blog, and get connected on social media, so we can support each other! I have some great blog posts to share with you this year about all of the topics and lessons learned above.

Community and connection is the foundation of sticking to our goals, whether that goal is to eat healthier, exercise more or grow spiritually. So together, we can make this an amazing year as we face it together.

If you’ve walked through a similar path as I have in your marriage or relationships, or if you’ve walked an entirely different path but one that has been just as painful and hard and sometimes even made you wonder if God really cared, I’d love for us to be online friends. Together let’s put the past behind us, overcome the enemy’s tactics to pull us away from God, stay strong, grow in our faith and get excited about all the good things God has in store us for in 2018.

If you could use some encouragement right now to get this year started off on the right foot, consider purchasing my latest book Unsinkable Faith. I give God all the glory for this book even getting completed and it was truly written from a raw place of pain but a beautiful place of faith. I hope it will encourage you to start changing your life TODAY by simply recognizing that what you think becomes who you are and then making changes to start this year off differently even if your circumstances remain the same. Life doesn’t dictate your joy. Your thoughts do. And you’re in control. Click here for more info.

And as an extra incentive to get connected with me, there will be lots of opportunities for free stuff and giveaways, special pre-order incentives, new products, etc,. in relation to my newest book releasing August 1, 2018, Love Life Again: Finding Joy When Life Is Hard. Plus I’ll be sharing a lot of great new resources coming out this year from my sweet friends and fellow authors – and of course, more free stuff. Smiles. 🙂

This is so near and dear toy heart, Tracey! I’m divorced and now remarried to a Wonderful Godly man, for 8 yrs. My , now, 17 yr old boy/ girl twins lived w us for a few yrs, but then decided to live w father( Non Christian Home, Alcoholic, etc). So VERY Heartbreaking and still is. My kids and my relationships have suffered!! I have finally come to the place that I have given it ALL to God. I cannot control or change things, but God can, if it’s his will. They, I pray, will graduate in June, then possibly College. Again, It’s in God’s hands. Thank Goodness for My Husband , Family, Godly Friends, Church, and all the Prayers!! God is So Good. Thanks for your ministry!!

I loved Unsinkable Faith! Straight from the heart, with Godly advice. My book is highlighted and underlined! And loaned to a sweet relative going through a divorce with many nasty facets to it. Thank you for being willing to follow God’s direction and share your story to help both yourself & others through their pain, to get to the peace & joy again.
