Is Holiday Stress Our Fate?

It’s hard to believe that we will be celebrating Thanksgiving this week – where has the year gone?!

As I woke up this morning thinking about all I need to get done before Thursday, I could feel my heart begin to race, and maybe you felt the same way. Maybe you are traveling to see family this week, and the thought of spending long hours in the car, standing in long lines at the airport, or spending long hours with extended family, is already giving you a headache. Or maybe you are so focused on your normal daily responsibilities, that your stress won’t really kick in until Wednesday afternoon.

But in any case, is holiday stress just our fate, or is there a way to avoid it? After all, the holidays come around at the same time every year, and we make plans for lots of things – so is it possible we could make plans to avoid letting the holidays push us to the edge of our stress tolerance?

If you ask me the answer to that question is yes, and over at my friend Glynnis’s blog today I’m sharing 6 tips for how to plan to minimize your holiday stress.  I hope you’ll join us over there!  And if you are visiting my blog today from Glynnis’s blog, then welcome!

Im reading through Stressed Less Living. I had never related any of my recent health issues to stress except for the heart palpitations. I didn’t realize it could effect your vision. Since starting to rearrange my priorities and taking control of over commitment, I’ve realized I haven’t had tou use my reading glasses as much. Stress was definitely effecting my sight as well.

Starting the year right by knowing how to overcome stress is quite helpful. Reading your blog is a big encouragement not only for me but also for my friends. Based on experience the best cure for me is recognising & accepting that Jesus Christ is the only answer to a stress free life. He releases us from the bondage of being tied-up in satan’s scheme. Life without Jesus is a life of disharmony between our minds, our body, & our spiritual life. We end giving-up, we become so tired & helpless. Our serenity is stolen from us. Stress can kill us if we don’t surrender to our Peacemaker. Stress is overwhelming if we don’t know where to go. Thank God, I got Jesus whom I can run to as my only antidote for a stress free life. Today surrender all stress to Him and be free. God bless you all!
