Some weeks are harder than others. Some days it seems no matter how much you pray, things still don’t turn out the way you had hoped and prayed for. Some moments seem to stand painfully still when it feels like God isn’t hearing your prayers at all and heartache, anger and worry are constant companions. Some people will continue to break our hearts and make us wonder what is wrong with today’s world. These are the weeks, days and moments when hope can seem fainter and fainter. Sometimes it honestly feels like evil is always winning, faith goes unrewarded and good guys really do finish last.
These are the weeks, days and moments when we have to keep choosing to lean on God the most, even when it seems futile. These are the times we need to hang tight to God’s promises and not let circumstances or people steal our hope, peace and joy.
These are all the times when we have to trust God to do the work only He has the power to do and in Him find the courage and bravery every day to keep taking the next step. Even when we have no idea where we are going or what He has planned. Even when the journey is hard and the road is long.
My friend shared a verse with me this week that I so needed to hear. If you’re having a hard moment, day, week, or year, maybe it will ease your mind today too. Maybe as it did for me, this scriptural promise will remind you to keep being brave and to not let go of the hope that God sees and is always working behind the scenes for the good of those who love Him. Keep believing in His faithfulness.
“The eyes of the Lord watch over those who do right; his ears are open to their cries for help. But the Lord turns his face against those who do evil; he will erase their memory from the earth.” Psalm 34:15-16

Tracie,
Thank you. You are a gifted writer who encourages women, honoring the Lord as you go.
Thanks Tracie…a powerful, timely, needed reminder of His Unfailing Love, His Very Present Help, His Sovereignty…The God Who sees AND hears.❤️
Thanks Tracie for reminding me that God is in control and He is on our side. He cares. With all the negative adverse things going on in this world not to mention in the United States I needed this reminder.
Thank you, Tracie. Your timing is Perfect! Made even more perfect through Him, who you have always put first. This is welcome encouragement this morning! Lord bless you, for all you are through Him, who loves us still! 1John4:19 “We love because He first loved us.”
I just received some very sad news about a friend’s health. Your words remind me of God’s promise and His amazing timing! Moments had not even passed from her phone call to reading this devotion. God is with us.. He privides hope, joy, and love. Thank you for reminding me.
Im sorry about your friend Laura. That promise is especially hard when people you care about are hurting or feel hopeless, I understand completely. Love how timely God works though!
Thank you sister. I desperately needed the reminder right now that the Lord is not on the side of the wicked, and He is not deaf to the cries of His children, nor is he an unjust judge. I have been fretting lately over this. “Lord, don’t You see? Why aren’t You doing anything? It seems like the ungodly and the sinfully unrepentant always win…!!!”
But our loving Heavenly Father DOES see, and with HIM, silence is not consent.
My sentiments exactly! I’m so there with you. It’s so frustrating when things seem that way. I love that “silence is not consent”. That encouraged me so much!
Thank you so much for this word Tracie. Just what I really needed to hear. We are going through a lot and truly this is what is needed. May God continue to use you in a mighty way and increase divine wisdom in you. God bless you greatly beloved. Shalom
Praying for you and all you’re going through.
Of all days I do believe that this message was sent directly to me.
I have had a week like your message. Feeling of abondment frustrating days and loneliness.
God Bless you Tracie.
I so understand friend! Praying God continues to make His Presence known in your life, as I pray for His Presence to be felt in my life every day too.
Yes, a very timely message indeed!!!
God is working behind the scenes, and we need to walk by faith. I believe everything we go through has a purpose. God is refining His godly children to deepen our faith and to come out stronger and better than before so He can receive the glory .
He will bring out good to those who love him. My pastor preached that when we are going through hard times, to set our minds on the things that are above and not on things of this earth.
To keep an eternal perspective and we are just passing through. Heaven is our home that Jesus is preparing for us.
He said most of us do not think about Heaven and that this world is not our home. So, remember, “THE BEST IS YET TO COME!” We are not home yet.
Always keep an eternal perspective!!
Good encouraging words! Thank you friend.
Thank you very much, I needed this. Is not easy when you waiting on God for a miracle and things are becoming hard. God bless you
I totally agree – sometimes trusting God is the hardest thing we are called to do in hard times, and getting upset and worried feels like faith failure. Thank goodness God is merciful and continues to love us despite our doubts. Praying for miracles in your life as you wait.
Indeed, this came to me at the right time as I am passing through a tough situation emotionally and financially. Leaning to God at such times is very tricky when you hear voices to discourage you to do so. But God is good as in these times He sends us an angel through you to reaffirm our faith in Him. Be blessed.
For the second time in less than one year, I am going through a painful separation. I thought that standing for my family the first time had worked, but I was obviously wrong. Having a toddler makes it so much more painful. I just don’t know if this is God’s will for my life or not…. I cry and pray that it is, but I just don’t know, and it happened this week on my birthday to make matters worse. God, please heal my heart, make it all better, and please step in and provide for my daughter and I when I fall short. I really needed this reminder from God.
Thank you so much for this, Tracie. I was greatly blessed by it
As with Paul, God’s answer to our prayer isn’t always what we prayed and hoped for. But remember, He is forming us more and more into the image of His Son. His answer is based on His long-range plan, not our immediate relief.
Thankfully, in the midst of our suffering, He gently whispers, “My grace is sufficient for you.” –copied
I have this quote posted by my computer where I can read it frequently. It reminds me to focus where my Heavenly Father does.
