Wonderful Wednesday – Week 5

THE

Today’s Wonderful Wednesday post is written by Bonnie Wallace, a member of the Your Life Still Counts Contributor Team (Chapter 15, Her Story), a YLSC Facebook Group Leader and a sweet friend.  I pray her words will spark excitement in your heart to not only begin thinking about your long term divine purpose, but also the purposes God orchestrates for you in the ordinary of every day life.

__________________________

After committing 21 years to serving God, my family and the church, I was blind-sided when the cancer diagnosis came. I looked back over the struggles of my life that included teen depression, broken marriages, single mother-hood and the serious illness of a child. It didn’t seem fair that life could possibly end with the wicked disease of cancer as if it were all for nothing.

Because of my struggles, and my love for Jesus, I had a deep need for God to use me for His glory and to purpose my heartaches to count for more than themselves. It was at this point I started asking, “What now, Lord?” and for three years He’s been calling me to step out of my comfort zone, open my eyes, and “SEE”.

For me, “see” is not just a word – it is a theme, a goal, a message and a need. It’s a call to witness and take part in the very labor of God. It’s a command that carries great blessing; an awareness of Jesus’ sovereign hand and power in everyday life. It’s an opportunity to interact in Spirit and Truth in every conversation and connection. It is a witnessing of God Almighty in the big and the small – a noticing of Kingdom unfolding through divine orchestration.

Psalm 84:7 tells us God gives strength in numbers: They go from strength to strength, til each appears before God in Zion. (NIV)

In this verse, the Israelites are making a required journey to Mount Zion, the place where God dwelled. They had to pass through the Valley of Tears before reaching the place where they would worship Him and rest. Along the way, they would strengthen each other by calling out, “Come! Let us go to the house of the Lord.” Together, they sustained one another with words of encouragement.

Jesus has taught me that all things are committed to Him, including our daily grind. God’s purpose of glory supersedes the comfort zone of day in, day out, “heads down doing” when we expect great things from Him. The hope of a Savior intertwines Himself no less in the grocery store, restaurant, coffee shop or ball field than it does on the mission field, but we must search for His will and anticipate a magnificent outcome.

When we step out of our comfort zone, into the faith zone, our ordinary days become extraordinary appointments with God.  (click to tweet this)

The Almighty’s power is not weakened in the act of running errands, laboring over a desk or working the hourly job – we just have to “see” the work He has put before us. The Deliverer’s guidance and miracles are for those of us who live our lives within 30 square miles, and for those who make their home on the beautiful mission field.

I am dreaming BIG things of our Creator. I have a God-dream for reaching the masses but He is teaching me to take the small steps too. By sharing the hope in my every day world that He’s given me, I don’t lose sight of how great He is in the small. (click to tweet this)

Sharing hope can be done in many ways, but one thing I frequently do is when I’m out running errands, before leaving my car, I always ask God to open my eyes and give me a Truth that needs to be heard by someone hurting. I share simple promises I’ve learned from my past like: God is with you. He hears your cry. He knows your heart. Jesus loves you. You’re not alone. He sees you. God’s waiting for you.

Each time I speak a Word, specifically directed by God, tears fill the eyes of the one I am speaking to. This Beloved child comes to realize God is with her because He’s offered her exactly what her heart needed through the lips of a stranger. Theses God-encounters help women be aware that He is keenly aware of her and coordinating her life as well. As a result, more praise is given to the Lord of All, as she may find her own purpose as she tells others of the meeting we’ve shared; an intentional passage of the Father’s presence through me to her. Hope ripples as the power of God goes forward.

I wonder what life would be like if we stepped out of our comfort zones and gave the woman right in front of us the strength God has given to us in our past. I believe we would experience the very power of Jesus, be comforted, lifted, seen and purposed by the One who calls us His own. I am dreaming of a time such as this as I imagine the possibilities of us changing the world, One Woman at a Time.

Beautiful Sparrow, your daily purpose is great and your territory is vast. Your ordinary appointments are divine and they are carefully orchestrated by The Alpha and Omega. His sovereign hand is the perfect arrangement of Hope meeting need.

Will you give it a try? Will you step out of your comfort zone and experience the joy and power of being purposed right where you are? Let’s reach out to one another with the glory of His strength, together!

NEXT STEP

In your journal or study guide, make a list of Truths you’ve learned about God in your struggles. Pray and ask God to open your eyes to the women in your everyday world and nudge your heart when He is calling you to reach out to one of them with a word of Love.

I have a dear friend who is struggling right now with job issues. She told me yesterday that she had cried all day about the situation. God prompted me to remind her that He has this in control. He has a purpose and it will be to His Glory. I may not have been able to do this even 6 months ago. I thank Him for His Words that He had for her.

    • Bonnie J. Wallace on Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at 10:14 am

Shirley, so often we see the changes in our lives as being a “no” from God when really they are a “yes” to something else. Praising the Lord you listened to His nudge on your heart for your friend. Strength to strength, Bonnie

  2. Miranda miller on Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at 8:24 am

im going to start using your idea, Bonnie and praying before I go somewhere for God to use me. Today, I am getting a visit by my children’s cps caseworker and then my son has a baseball game. I’m going to ask God to open my eyes and recognize if someone is hurting and offer them words of encouragement and prayer. This is really stepping out of my comfort zone, I usually tend to stay kinda quiet.

    • Bonnie J. Wallace on Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at 10:15 am

Miranda, I can’t wait to hear how God works through you. Will you keep me posted on your glory-story today? Strength to strength, Bonnie

      • Miranda miller on Friday, April 17, 2015 at 9:04 am

I was able to talk with the cps caseworker about bible studies.

  3. Marianne on Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at 8:28 am

I work in a hospital and I always ask God to let me bless someone. From an older lady with tears in her eyes stating to me that God is good, to someone going to surgery who grasped my hand asked me to pray for them. I am equally blessed by them. Life for me is very hard right now, but I will always seek to bless.

    • Bonnie J. Wallace on Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at 10:18 am

I am praising the Lord,Marianne for your tender heart and choosing to give hope even when your own circumstances are hard. I have lifted you to the Father, asking for an extra measure of favor from His bounty toward you. I am sure He is pleased. Strength to strength, Bonnie

  4. Monica on Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at 8:30 am

I will have the eyes and heart of Jesus as my students enter my classroom this morning. I will be looking for the student that needs a extra reminder of God’s love.

    • Bonnie J. Wallace on Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at 8:40 am

I am praying for you Monica as you go forward in God’s purpose, right where you are, today! Amen!!

  5. Julie on Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at 8:43 am

I work at a children’s hospital. I ask God each day to use me to make a difference in someone’s life. This devotion tells me I can not only make a difference but I can give someone hope. The kind of Hope I have that Jesus has given to me. Lord use me make me an instrument of your love. We all have so many opportunities to breath life and hope into others. Help me to size each opportunity. Thank you, and God bless you.

    • Bonnie J. Wallace on Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at 10:20 am

I am praying your prayer over all who read this today, Julie. Perhaps others will pray your words for themselves, too. Strength to strength, Bonnie

“Lord use me make me an instrument of your love. We all have so many opportunities to breath life and hope into others. Help me to size each opportunity.”

  6. Lois on Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at 9:01 am

I usually see women at the grocery store or running errands. So many young mothers are overwhelmed trying to accomplish everything in their day while caring for their children. I would pray for the words to let them know they can do this difficult and important job with God’s help.

    • Bonnie J. Wallace on Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at 10:22 am

I have found that these young mamas often feel invisible in the day in, day out, of life. I wonder how it would be if we all told them, “God sees you.” Claiming God’s powerful work in you today, Lois. Strength to strength, Bonnie

  7. Bre on Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at 9:19 am

Sometimes it isn’t what you say, but rather giving a knowing smile and meaningful eye contact with the understanding that the receiver is loved by God, through you. We may not always know what the receiver is going through but as the sender of such love, we both can both share in God’s peace.

    • Bonnie J. Wallace on Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at 10:24 am

Amen, Bre! A smile breaks every language obstacle and reaches through the crowds to the one who needs His love. Bless you dear one. Strength to strength, Bonnie

  8. Amy on Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at 9:31 am

I am praying that God gives me the words to say or not to say as I interact with my teens (enough said) and husband who recently lost his mother. He is having to shoulder a lot dealing with estate issues and a disabled and stubborn sister. Both are unsaved. I am also praying the same when I am sitting at my daughter’s dance class several times each week.

    • Bonnie J. Wallace on Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at 10:27 am

Lord, i lift Amy to You and ask that You would give her wisdom in words and in being still. Lord, let her seek You, alone so that those that are in her presence know theyare in Yours. Will a grateful heart for this Sister who is burdened for her family’s knowledge of You, Amen

  9. Rachelle on Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at 9:39 am

Today will be the perfect day for me to speak truth into the heart of another woman.

I am a property manager, and in March I had a single mother of 3 children come to me in hopes of renting one of my empty homes. I had several people look and apply for this home, but this girl just hit a soft place in my heart. I done her background check, and all of her references were great. She had been living with her mom for about a year in 1 bedroom with her 3 children. She works, and could afford the rent, so I listened to my heart and I rented the house to her.

On April 1, when the rent came due, she did not have the money and she made up several excuses as to why she would be late with the rent. I guided her to local out reach services to receive help with her rent.

I still have not received her rent, and I plan on speaking with her today. I know this girl desperately needs Jesus in her life. I can see sadness in her eyes, and I can see that she just needs guidance. I have been praying about this since April 1, and today I plan to let her know that Jesus loves her, and he wants her to turn to Him! I plan to invite her to church, and to just love her! I pray for the right words, the right attitude and for wisdom and God’s guidance.

Thank you for todays devotion Bonnie! You picked the perfect day to send it. <3

    • Bonnie J. Wallace on Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at 10:31 am

Jesus, please go before Rachelle and prepare The Way. Give her the words and love that You want to share to this precious soul You have brought across her path. Lord, birth a mentoring relationship between them as You give Your hope to those in need. I am believing this is the beginning of many lives being changed through her. Thank You that Your promise to provide what we need is being fulfilled through Rachelle, Your chosen one.

      Strength to strength, Bonnie

  10. Christa on Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at 9:43 am

I spent the day praying for the students I was with on my old college campus.

    • Bonnie J. Wallace on Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at 10:33 am

Prayers are such a beautiful work of ministry. They transcend all time and distance. Thank you for the reminder that we can reach everyone through a word to the Father. Strength to strength, Bonnie

  11. Theresa Cloe on Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at 9:54 am

There are a lot of hurting people who come in and out of the office where I work as an office assistant in a child support office. I pray daily that He will use my voice to lift up these women and men who are going through very stressful and trying times and to ask Him daily also to keep our main goal in mind: that this program is for the CHILDREN of our community.

    • Bonnie J. Wallace on Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at 10:35 am

Theresa, how wise that you ask for God-focus in your work – keeping Your eyes on the prize and purpose of Who and why you’ve been called. Well done! Strength to strength, Bonnie

  12. Danielle on Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at 9:58 am

I pray that God works through me today. I have noticed that people are more drawn to you when you allow God’s light to shine through you, it’s contagious! I pray that I spread the light in any darkness I may encounter today. Shine bright ladies!

    • Bonnie J. Wallace on Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at 10:36 am

Let it shine! Let it shine! Let is shine!

      Strength to strength, Bonnie

  13. Melissa on Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at 11:00 am

Great devotion today, Bonnie. Thank you for sharing. Recently, I prayed to God for Him to help a certain person. I am working on forgiving this person for continually hurting others. However, I prayed about this and today, the person called and asked for help with food and living expenses. At first, I was grouchy, but, then, I remembered that I had prayed for God to help this person. So, maybe God sent them to my husband and me as a way of giving them help. Looking at things in a different perspective is definitely helping me.

    • Bonnie J. Wallace on Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at 5:26 pm

Melissa, I don’t know of any greater love “in action” than that of forgiveness. You, my friend are being just like Jesus. It takes my breath away. Thank You, Lord. Strength to strength, Bonnie

  14. D Garrison on Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at 11:05 am

Bonnie, the seeing and encouraging lifestyle you describe is the very one I seek to live. Most days I do pretty well. Some days, however, I get my focus on my own challenges and I miss those opportunities to love and encourage others. In my efforts to take off my mask regarding the years when I wasn’t following Jesus, I find my thoughts turning inward worrying how people will react to the old me. I’m praying God will help me refocus my eyes on Jesus and trust Him to use the post on my blog for His glory. There is such a need for hope and encouragement In our world today. I want to share the love and light of Jesus with a smile, an encouraging word, a gentle touch, a ray of light in the darkness. Thank you for your post.

    • Bonnie J. Wallace on Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at 5:24 pm

Deanne, being constantly aware of seeing others has been a process for me – a sort of “retraining” of the mind. I started with putting small stickers on the dash of my car and back of my cell phone. They reminded me to be aware of God’s presence in the moment. And can I just whisper something from my heart to yours? Your light is shining and I’ve seen your encouragement in action. Love speaks hope online and in person. Strength to strength, Bonnie

  15. D Garrison on Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at 11:16 am

I just reread the tweet I shared from your post. I need to get my feet firmly planted in that faith zone. And stay there! Bless you, Bonnie.

  16. Trish on Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at 12:10 pm

My husband is a gardener who loves to create beautiful walkways through his gardens – this is how I view each of our special journeys through earthly life….’Struggles’ …God intends them to be our stepping stones in a unique & valuable path toward the legacy He plans for each of us to leave behind…I believe each pathway has beauty following the hard work it takes to build it. Like my husband, we don’t always have a plan in starting our path but as we work with what we have been given (the lay of the land) it develops into the path it’s supposed to be & it always leads to where we need to go!

    • Bonnie J. Wallace on Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at 5:18 pm

I love your comparison, here Trish. I am looking at my garden now and it looks so different from the way it started out. With every season it takes on a new form and beauty. It grows stronger as I tend to its needs, weed out the undesired and feed it with good things. It reminds me that Jesus is the perfect Gardener. Thank you for this image. 🙂 Strength to strength, Bonnie

  17. Amy Hood on Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at 12:23 pm

Wow! Bonnie, your beautiful story of taking struggles to purpose is so encouraging as I am going through(have been through) similar seasons of life…what an awesome journey! God has set my heart on fire for being totally used by Him and for Him as He’s continuing to transform my heart, mind and soul for His glory. He’s taking all my pain and experiences and turning them into powerful messages I am willing to share with other women for His glory. My journal is filling up as He is pouring out words onto my paper that can only come from my heart and mind being aligned with His. I am so thankful to Him for that miracle today. Two words that go hand in hand as we are to be the light for God while going through our day are HOPE & LOVE. Where there is one, there is the other! I try to reach out to those who feel weary/hopeless, have had similar experiences where I can encourage, bring a smile to someone who feels alone/sad, or help someone in need to show them that someone does understand and care! Everyday, I strive to help or lift up at least one person or those I pass as I run my daily errands. It’s amazing the smiles that come from others when you initiate that godly smile first! Memorizing these acronyms I’ve come up with, will hopefully encourage someone to be the Light for someone else who feels trapped in darkness, or who may be experiencing a season of doubt/pain. We are His hands and feet if we only let Him help us see others the way He does:

    HOPE…Humility, Obedience, Promises, Eternity
    LOVE…Listening, Opportunities, Valuable, Experiences

HOPE =We have to allow God to establish HUMILITY in our hearts, so that our OBEDIENCE to Him can be set in motion, as we rely on the PROMISES of His word, knowing we will spend ETERNITY with Him.
LOVE=LISTENING for God to show us those OPPORTUNITIES with others, is incredibly VALUABLE to someone’s heart, as only God knows the EXPERIENCES or heartache they are enduring.

    In His PERFECT love,
    Amy
    JER. 29:11

    • Bonnie J. Wallace on Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at 5:09 pm

Amy, I can hear the fire and passion in your heart as I read your words and it makes my own heart beat a little faster with excitement! I am locking arms with you (can you hear our armor clanking?) and cheering you on as you spread the Love’s Hope to those you meet. <3

Revelation 12:11(HCSB) They conquered him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony,

I pray that I can encourage a fellow worker who has elderly parent issues and a sick husband and is an atheist and hates Christians (although she does like me anyway) with the hope I have in Jesus Christ even in the midst of my trials with an unhappy marriage and elderly mother issues.

    • Bonnie J. Wallace on Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at 5:01 pm

Karen, you have been divinely knitted to this soul God came to save. I have found that my greatest witness has been when I am going through my most difficult times. Outsiders wonder “how?” and “why?” and it is in these moments Jesus gives Himself glory. Amazing grace. Amazing power. Sending you hugs and prayers through the internet. Strength to strength, Bonnie

  19. Bree on Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at 1:30 pm

Last night was a terrible night in our household. It’s my hope God will help me to focus on today as being a new start. I need guidance in speaking words of encouragement and hope that’ll help our family go through our current struggle, as negativity and impatience is only making our situation worse. Thank you for today’s devotion, Bonnie!

    • Debra S on Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at 2:19 pm

Bree, I pray the Holy Spirit brings peace to you and gives your tongue the words of encouragement to help bring calmness and hope to your families struggling situation. May you gain the strength to meet the needs to bring you through. Amen

      • Bonnie J. Wallace on Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at 4:57 pm

Bree, my heart breaks for you as I am familiar with deep heartache and difficult days through family struggles. I don’t know your specifics, but I know how you feel. Remember the Lord is with you, and with them. It helps me to think of others and see Jesus standing right beside them. Lifting you now. Strength to strength, Bonnie

        • Bree on Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at 7:03 pm

Bonnie and Debra, Thank you so much for your lovely and encouraging replies. Thankfully, today has been a better day. Bonnie, I appreciate that reminder of thinking of others and seeing Jesus standing next to them. I admit, there are times I’ve allowed myself to forget that. Again, thank you so much, ladies! Your words have brought me comfort. Blessings, Bree

  20. Debra S on Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at 2:07 pm

Bonnie, I love your dream of spreading our Lord’s love with words of encouragement to everyday women. When I pay attention to my surroundings, it’s easy to “see” the needs of others, in our everyday life. All it takes is one little seed, to start someone’s journey.

    • Bonnie J. Wallace on Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at 4:50 pm

I have prayed so many times in my past that someone “out of the blue” would speak a Word of hope to me. What an amazing blessing to be this voice to others. I wonder how many others pray the same thing and then the Lord crosses our paths. One day, I will know (and so will you!) Blessings, friend. Strength to strength, Bonnie

  21. Lori on Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at 3:16 pm

Someone very close to me is going through the loss of a friendship. As one who has been going through the same thing, I can share with her that I am going through the same thing. It helps to know that there are others going through similar struggles.

    • Bonnie J. Wallace on Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at 4:53 pm

Lori, we have such strength in numbers – God’s strength! Your comment reminds me of Matthew 18:20 – For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them. Praise the Lord for friends! Strength to strength, Bonnie

  22. Sarah L. on Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at 3:51 pm

No matter which way I look, I must look to God during the obstacles and know this His plan for me cannot be thwarted! I must also trust and obey Him, because God loves me, He made me, created me for me.

    • Bonnie J. Wallace on Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at 4:47 pm

Amen, Sarah! God’s Truth in you is so powerful. It is keeping your eyes fixed on Him. I am praying for your path to stay straight so others will continue to see Him in you. 🙂 Strength to strength, Bonnie

  23. Jenna on Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at 4:02 pm

Thank you for your story. It is so inspiring and through you and the comments on your post, it has helped me put together the words I need to help my mom. She is very broken and needs to hear and feel the Lord’s power working within her.

    Blessings,
    Jenna

    • Bonnie J. Wallace on Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at 4:45 pm

Jenna, I think stepping out of the comfort zone has been hardest with my parents. I am praying for you, knowing you can do all things with Jesus. Strength to strength, Bonnie

  24. heather on Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at 4:16 pm

I am trying to be more intentional in my interactions. I have begun a few conversations with ” I hope I am not being too personal, but I noticed…” to some ladies who looked like they could use some encouragement, even though I did not know them real well.

    • Bonnie J. Wallace on Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at 4:44 pm

Heather, a perfect example of stepping out of our comfort zone into the faith zone. Love pursues and invests. Well done. Strength to strength, Bonnie

  25. Janice on Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at 5:07 pm

Thank you for your words today. I really needed that reminder. I cancelled a luncheon today because I felt it was out of my comfort zone. I really regret it now & I realize that the thoughts in my heart were not from God. I am asking for forgiveness & the courage to be obedient to God’s voice in my life. I pray that God would help me to continue to minister to my Young Mom’s prayer group I lead each week. Many days I feel like I am not adequate to do this, but I know that my God in me is. I have a heart for young Moms trying to balance all that life is throwing at them. Thank you for your encouragement.

    • Bonnie J. Wallace on Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at 5:36 pm

Your heart, Janice is a beautiful example for God’s heart for young moms. Can you imagine how much the Father loved, and cared for, the young mother of Jesus? I have never thought much about this until just now.

I am stepping out of my comfort zone by saying I feel as if God wants me to give you His gentle reminder to be sure you have someone to pour into you, as you pour into others. He also wants you to know the fruits of the Spirit apply to how you think of you, too. He is pleased with your desire to follow Him. You are is His Beloved! Strength to strength, Bonnie

  26. Mary Beth on Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at 5:37 pm

I am a very very very shy person. I am not one to speak in public or even in a room full of friends! I make myself a wall flower . . . but most recently at least in the past couple of months I have asked God to help me with this. Growing up I live a sheltered life, school, work and home . . . no clubs, sports, friends, etc. so I believe I have brought that with me and don’t know how to function/talk outside especially about God and what he has done. I wasn’t raised that way, in fact, I have been a Christian for about 15 years and have only just started going to a Bible teaching Church. I feel like I’m back in school learning. Anyway long story short Lord, teach me how to talk about you and your ways. Thank you for listening.

    • D Garrison on Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at 7:09 pm

Mary Beth, I wanted to share that when I began attending a Bible teaching and preaching church it was the beginning of a whole new chapter in my life. The word of God truly is living and active. I pray that getting into God’s Word will bring you a wonderful new understanding and relationship with our Lord. It was a life altering experience for me that opened the way for me to grow as a Christian and build my faith. I hope I will have an opportunity to hear of the wonderful changes you experience. Love to you, Mary Beth

      • Bonnie J. Wallace on Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at 10:57 pm

Mary Beth, you are so precious to the Lord. We are all growing and learning in Him and every day is new for me as I discover more about how He wants to live life through me. His mercies are new every morning and I pray that we are not perfect, but faithful. I am glad we are growing together. Blessings sweet Sister. Strength to strength, Bonnie

I see how wonderfully God is working in your life and I pray for that in my life but right now I don’t feel beautiful at all. I’m hurting so bad that I don’t even feel like leaving my house. The pain takes away my energy and zest for living. Everytime I step out to go anywhere I have to come back home because I feel so bad. I just don’t know how to step out of my comfort zone. Sorry I’m having such a negative reply..

Sharon, my heart is asking Jesus Himself to comfort you. He is with you. He does know where you are and He hears your cry. These are not just words – they are God’s promises to you. You are beautiful and adored and a treasure to the King of Kings. I pray that He will give you eyes to see you. I am praying He will ease your pain, cover your fears and show you the way to go. You are loved with an everlasting love. Strength to strength, Beautiful Sparrow. Bonnie

Thanks Bonnie for your encouraging. This pain has taken the joy out of my life. I want to get it back. I have almost resigned from everything I found joy in. Serving God and volunteering to help people were always at the top of my priorities and now it’s a struggle. I have a hard time being a wife, mother, grandmother, daughter or sister. My dad died in January and I couldn’t even attend his funeral. He was an abusive dad but I still miss him I want that strength to strength you mentioned. God bless you and Tracie.

Dear Bonnie, I am so thankful for your post . It really spoke to me. Especially the part about going together through the “valley of years” I have never heard that before. I think we all have things in our lives that draw us as women through that valley, but it was so encouraging to realize that we aren’t alone on this journey. That The Lord brings us together to love and encourage each other as we go …. I am a pre school teacher and I love being able to spend time with the little guys and girls in our class but lately my heart has really been drawn to their moms. I can see some of them struggling and would like to offer words of encouragement to them. I am going to pray that God would help me to reach out to them with words of encouragement . Thank you so much for sharing.

Sherri, what a beautiful heart you have. I am thinking that God is already giving you ideas on how to reach out to these young mamas and I am confident He has prepared The Way through your own experiences with Him. I am so glad to be encouraging women with you. Strength to strength, Bonnie

Thank you for posting this. I have a friend struggling with finding God’s purpose in the long delays of His promises.

I can’t say that I’ve “been there,” past tense, because I’m still in that place of waiting, but as I’m learning to radically trust our loving Heavenly Father in the “in between time,” He’s allowing my faith to come forth as gold from the fire so that when I share with my friend and others about waiting with faith and hope, they know these aren’t shallow words…I’m walking through it as I speak!!! 🙂

    He doesn’t waste our suffering!!

I would like to remind them that they are “A Blessed Child of God” and he is with them and will be with them through it all. He will never leave you.
It has taken me a long time to believe that. I do know that I AM A BLESSED CHILD OF GOD! He loves me and he will stay right by my side. He put us all together for a reason. He knew we all needed each other.

    AMen

His Eye Is On the Sparrow
    By Civilla Martin, 1869-1948
Why should I feel discouraged, Why should the shadows come?
Why should my heart be lonely and long for Heav’n and home,
    When Jesus is my portion? My constant friend is He;
    His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me;
His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me.
“Let not your heart be troubled,” His tender word I hear,
    And resting on His goodness, I lose my doubts and fears;
    Tho’ by the path He leadeth but one step I may see;
    His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me;
His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me.
Whenever I am tempted, Whenever clouds arise,
When songs give place to sighing, When hope within me dies.
    I draw the closer to Him; From care He sets me free;
    His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me;
His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me.
    Refrain:
I sing because I’m happy, I sing because I’m free,
For His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me.

I am gearing my heart up to telling others about my hidden sin. I’ve lived for 28 years with Shame and guilt. I truly believe that by going through your book AND the book forgiven and set free I can eventually share my experience and hopefully save some one else of years of heartache.
