You’re invited to have your separation or divorce story published in Tracie’s upcoming release! Be a part of this exciting initiative and allow God to use your story to change lives!

There is no bigger blessing than seeing God turn our pain into purpose. Seeing Him use our experiences, lessons He’s taught us, and challenges we have overcome, to instill hope and encouragement into a woman’s heart who desperately needs to know those things are possible for her too, is a turning point for our own hearts to heal. Right now, there is a woman whose husband recently left her, or who left her husband due to an abusive or loveless relationship, or even choices of her own accord, but who is floundering in her faith and wondering if she can survive another day. Waking up each morning to face the tragic circumstances of a broken marriage, a broken heart, guile, shame and a scary uncertain future. Wondering if she will not only survive but ever feel truly happy again.

That woman may need to hear YOUR story. Not a story of complete overcoming and final victory – because we are all a work in progress and total healing takes time –  but a story of how God has walked beside you along the way, provided for you in spiritual and physical ways, held you up when you weak, performed miracles in you or your life, and how you’ve come out scarred but healed and stronger on the other side.

Now is your chance to follow the command in the verse above in your own life. Your story may be the exact story someone needs to hear right now to help them get out of bed just one more time. Will you step out in faith and share your story for the glory of God and to comfort others the way He comforted you when you most needed it?

My newest release, Living Unbroken: Reclaiming Your Life and Your Heart After Divorce, has been so popular that my publisher David C. Cook Publishing and I have partnered together to create a Living Unbroken Divorce Recovery Program,  rolling out next year! It is our prayer this much needed faith based program, which will include the book, a study guide, a leaders guide, and a 6 week video teaching series, will hopefully one day be a staple in churches across the nation, available to help countless women recover from the pain and tragedy of separation and divorce and learn to love their lives even if they aren’t they lives they once dreamed of.

I would be so honored if you would consider sharing a short story to include in this resource guide. Or if separation and divorce isn’t your experience, forward this email to a friend or family member who has walked this difficult road who may be willing and longing to pour love and comfort into the hearts of other hurting women who so desperately need to know that one day, they will be okay too.

  • Anyone who has been through separation or divorce and has seen God’s faithfulness and intervention in some way in the midst of the difficult circumstances.
  • Anyone who has been through separation or divorce and has experienced healing, victory and happiness in some way even though the journey was hard and long.
  • Or, a friend or family member of someone who has walked this road who has a moving story to tell about how they helped and supported their loved one through the love of Christ and the knowing importance of being a loyal, trusted friend to someone whose heart is broken.
  • You do not have to be a writer! Just a story teller. Professional editing will take place after all winning entries have been selected.
  • You never know how God can use your story to change someone’s life!
  • Our stories of His faithfulness are meant to be shared to not only bring comfort to others but to serve as living proof that He is alive and well and working in our world and our lives today.
  • Millions of women right now need to know God will get them through this pain. Your story could offer the exact words they need to hear and at times, can even save a life.
  • You’ll receive a free copy of Living Unbroken and the new study guide if your story is selected for participation, as well as given exposure on social media platforms upon the release of the book.
  • Story submissions should stay within 500-700 words maximum
  • Submissions should include the author’s name and title
  • Include at least one bible verse or biblical story reference that supports, or is relevant to, your story
  • Avoid sharing details that could be viewed as slanderous. Keep the focus on the author’s felt needs and emotions and how God met them in their time or place of need in a divine way, as well as offering hope and encouragement for that woman who feels sad, lost and hopeless
  • Submit a quality resolution, black and white headshot (taken with an Iphone or quality camera)
  • Submit your story in a Word Doc or PDF format along with your headshot in the form below
  • Deadline to submit a story for consideration is March 26th, 2021, 11:59pm ET

I am so excited about this project and gathering life changing stories from God fearing women who trusted Him in the hardest of times but have held onto their faith, overcome major hurdles and seen victory in so many ways because of His faithfulness. If you’re interested, I’d love to hear from you in the comments of this post and also would love to pray for you as you begin putting your experiences into words that can impact the hearts of many.

I’m in the middle of it now. I’ll plan to participate. I crave friendly help from my sisters in Christ right now, so I want to help others when I am able. I’m so glad you’re doing this, Tracie????

As I am right in the thick of things, I am encouraged by this needed gift that Tracie is offering. Anything to help one another as sisters in Christ will be a blessing to me. I will be working on my story and will submit within the next week. Thank you for this opportunity to grow during this painful process. God is indeed Good!!!

I am at the end of the legal process in a divorce I never expected or wanted but that the Lord has allowed to rescue me from a toxic man and marriage I didn’t even know I was in. It has been a long year and a half journey of painful refinement but it is for my good and God’s glory that He has given me this story. I am seeing glimpses of the redemption I know He has had in store. I would love to share with you and see if it can be used to encourage another woman walking this road to give her hope that He will restore and redeem this in her life.

The divorce is over, though there is still some post-separation abuse. I definitely have a story to tell and am grateful for the opportunity to possibly share it.

I was blindsided 6 years ago. I had no idea there was anything wrong with our almost 20 yr marriage. It still brings me to tears. I am always looking for books that will make it look like I made it through successfully instead of feeling like a victim (I got my bachelors and my masters and am in my dream job and own my own home). But despite that, I still feel sad. Your book intrigues me but not sure I can read and live through that raw grief again. I can’t go back to the darkness I was in, but wonder if your book, along with the walk with God, would bring me past the stalled point I feel I’m at now

Hi Darlene. I too was blindsided by my ex and I also consider myself well educated and successful (at least in terms of what this world says is successful). I wonder if you are like me in that I needed practical advice in how to heal. I am a woman of faith, but I am also very analytical, logical, and practical, and of course I also over think! I am still healing, but I feel God has walked me through my “stuck” through books, bible studies, and community with other women. Not all books were right for me. I have bought books and couldn’t read them because I couldn’t relate, but I encourage you to read Tracie’s book. I could relate to her book because it was not only validating, it offered practical steps to heal. I also encourage you to check out Lysa’s Forgiving What you Can’t Forget. Although our situations ended in divorce and Lysa’s didn’t..the journey she walks us through is very healing. My biggest takeaway was that I didn’t need my ex to offer closure to heal and that forgiveness is a decision and a process. I didn’t know it until I read the book, but I needed to understand those things so I could move on. Sometimes you don’t know what you need to hear, until you hear it 🙂 Lifting you up in prayer.

I just submitted my story and picture. I’m nervous and excited. Thank you for this opportunity to be vulnerable and possibly get a small piece of my story out.

  7. CarolAnn Fletcher on Sunday, March 21, 2021 at 11:54 pm

I feel the same as you Julie, nervous and excited as I just submitted by story and picture too. No matter the outcome of my submission, thank you so much Tracie for this amazing opportunity to tell a bit of my story. I found telling my story not only challenging in the best way, but also therapeutic as well.

Thank you for the ministry of your words and published resources for broken brides craving direction in their life.
Praying over every submission and the future project God has placed in your hands. Blessings to you Tracie!

I am so glad I learned of this. If anything, it was therapeutic putting my story in writing – although I found it difficult to condense it into 500-700 words. I believe this project will transform lives and bring hope to the hopeless. Thank you for the opportunity to possibly be part of that. Many Blessings!

I’ve been trying to upload my story for about an hour but it keeps giving me an error about my file extensions, but the extensions are correct. I’ve tried converting the doc to pdf but it still won’t take it. It won’t upload the photo either. Is there a website error? How can I get this submitted so it will make the deadline? Thank you!!

    I wish I hadn’t missed this.

    • Nina Ruth Bruno on Wednesday, April 7, 2021 at 9:11 pm

I have found that sometimes when I think I have missed something, if I go through with it anyway I never know what door God would open! I would truly encourage you to go for it and write your story anyway. Even though you may have missed the deadline, you never know if God would open a door!
