One on One Customized Coaching and Mentoring

Whether you're just beginning to find your footing as a writer or you've been at this for years and simply need a fresh set of eyes and a trusted guide, one-on-one coaching gives you something a group program can't — focused, personalized attention that's entirely about you and your work. Through our sessions together on Zoom, we can work from one of my custom coaching packages or build something entirely from the ground up, whatever best fits where you are and where you're trying to go.

Feeling stuck in your writing and unsure if you can really write a book? Ready to build your platform but not sure where to start? Need someone who understands your passion, can get inside your head and help you write as authentically and clearly as possible? Just need some advice and guidance about the publishing industry or how to grow your presence as an author?

Every writer comes to the table with a different story, different goals, and different gaps. That's exactly why one-on-one coaching works so well — because your experience is shaped around your specific needs, not a one-size-fits-all curriculum. When we work together, we'll start by talking honestly about where you are in your writing journey, where you want to be, and what's been standing in the way. From there, if you choose a multi-hour pacakage, I'll tailor our sessions to give you the most targeted help and guidance possible. That might mean diving deep into your manuscript or book proposal, or it might mean rolling up our sleeves on the business side of your author life — things like building out your website, growing your email list, or developing and marketing digital products. Whatever you need most, that's where we focus. Some of the areas writers most often bring to our coaching sessions include, but are certainly not limited to:

  • Setting long and short term goals to help writers stay on track with their writing
  • Brainstorming of ideas for content or manuscript outlines
  • Overcoming discouragement and a lack of confidence by affirming your calling
  • How to get connected with agents or publishers
  • Writing strong, successful query letters
  • How to get off the blank page and tackle and overcome writer’s block
  • How to craft your story in an engaging way that meets the needs of your reader
  • How to determine your niche and your target audience
  • How to build or grow your social media and online platforms
  • How to market and/or launch a book successfully
  • Receiving real time encouraging and equipping feedback and critique on writing pieces, chapters, proposals, and manuscripts
  • Building your author platform from the ground up — including organizing and optimizing your website, growing your email list, and creating and marketing digital products that establish your presence and reach your audience
  • Brainstorming and reviewing book ideas and book concepts
  • Learning how to write so that a reader feels engaged and believes you have the answers they need to solve their problems
  • Identifying obstacles standing in the way of your writing and putting together a personal plan to overcome them
  • Strategizing a book launch, creating freebies and putting together a successful marketing plan
  • A general “Ask Me Anything” session to get all your writing and publishing questions answered from someone who knows and understands the publishing industry
  • And so much more!
